Size Guide

The single best thing you can do to avoid a return is spend two minutes on this page.

The short version

Cool Bloom sleepwear is cut with a relaxed fit. Most women take their usual UK dress size. Every size on the product page is labelled in UK sizes, so there is nothing to convert. If you are between sizes, size down for a closer fit or stay where you are for extra room. It is designed to skim, not cling.

How our sizes are labelled

Our sizes are made to a small-to-extra-extra-large pattern, which we label in UK dress sizes so you never have to guess. This is what each one means:

On the product page Pattern size Best for a body bust of
UK 8–10 S 82–87 cm
UK 12 M 92 cm
UK 14 L 97 cm
UK 16 XL 102 cm
UK 18 XXL 108 cm

We currently make this style in UK 8 to 18. We would rather tell you that plainly than sell you a size that will not fit. If you wear a UK 20 or above, let us know — we are working on extending the range and will write to you first when we do.

Your body measurements

These are body measurements, not garment measurements. Measure yourself over underwear, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug. Find the row closest to your bust and hip.

Garment measurements — the top

The finished garment, measured flat and doubled where relevant. Short-sleeve and long-sleeve are cut identically through the body; only the sleeve differs. There is deliberate room built in — this is sleepwear, not tailoring.

The waistband is elasticated and measured relaxed, so it stretches comfortably beyond the figure shown. Leg length is measured from the top of the waistband to the hem.

How to measure

  • Bust — around the fullest part, with the tape level across your back.
  • Waist — the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
  • Hip — around the fullest part, roughly 20 cm below the waist.
  • Inside leg — from the top of your leg to the floor, if you want to check the trouser length.

Fit notes

  • The top is relaxed through the bust and body, with a little shape at the side seam.
  • The trousers sit at the natural waist on an elasticated band with a soft tie, so there is give either way.
  • Bamboo viscose has a small amount of natural stretch, and the elastane adds recovery, so it moves with you rather than pulling.
  • Sleeve length is your choice, not a fit consideration. Short and long are cut identically through the body.
  • Between two sizes? The hip is usually the deciding measurement on the trousers. If your hip sits near the top of a band, take the larger size.
  • Taller than 5'8"? The trousers are cut long — most women find them full length rather than cropped.
