The fabric
What is bamboo viscose, exactly?
It is a fibre made from bamboo cellulose, processed into a soft, fluid yarn. It behaves rather like silk to the touch but washes like cotton. We chose it because it moves moisture off the skin and lets heat escape, which is the whole point. There is more detail on our Our Fabric page.
Will it shrink?
Not if you wash it cool and keep it away from a hot tumble dryer. Bamboo viscose dislikes heat more than it dislikes anything else. Cool wash, low or no tumble, and it will hold its shape.
Can I use fabric softener?
Please do not. Softener leaves a coating on the fibre that blocks exactly the wicking behaviour you bought it for. The fabric is already soft and does not need help.
Does it get bobbly?
The elastane in the blend is there partly for recovery, which helps the surface stay smooth. Washing inside out and avoiding rough fabrics in the same load will keep it looking new for longer.
Fit and sizing
What size should I order?
Your usual UK size. The cut is relaxed rather than fitted. Full measurements are on the Size Guide.
I am between sizes. Up or down?
Size down for a closer fit, stay where you are for more room. Neither is a mistake, and returns are free either way.
Do you make anything above a 22?
Not yet. We would like to, and it is the request we get most often. If you tell us what you are looking for it genuinely feeds into what we make next.
The Cooling Pad
Does it need plugging in?
No. There is no cable, no battery, no water. The gel inside changes state as it absorbs heat, and resets on its own at room temperature.
How long does it stay cool?
You get a genuinely cool surface for the first stretch of contact, after which it warms to match you. Move off it and it resets in roughly 15 to 20 minutes, ready to turn back onto.
Where does it go?
On top of your pillow, underneath your pillowcase. You should not really be able to feel it as a separate object.
